Our interdisciplinary team of graduate architects, landscape architects, and urban designers completed a comprehensive re-imagining of the 520-acre Downsview Airfield in Toronto, translating the studio’s three-stage brief into a coherent, future-ready master plan.
We dissected the 2018 Downsview framework plan, overlaying new urban principles drawn from nine global precedent studies (e.g., Vauban Freiburg, Hammarby Sjöstad). GIS mapping and sectional analytics revealed gaps in ecological connectivity, housing affordability, and transit equity, forming the evidence base for change.
